Suncity Grouphas been confirmed as the official sponsor of the 66th Macau GrandPrix which will bear the name of Macau’s largest junket operator.

VIPgaming investor SuncityGroupwill again sponsor the MacauGran Prix,heldon November 14,which will be the company’s sixth consecutive year of landing itssupport for the motor racing event.
OnWednesday, May 22, the Macau Grand Prix Organizing CommitteeCoordinator, PunWeng Kunand Suncity Group Executive GinaLei signeda sponsorship partnership during an official meeting. As per theagreement, the motorsports event name will be prefixed by thecompany’s own and thus become the “SuncityGroup 66th Macau Grand Prix”.
Whilefinancial details weren’t specifically disclosed, Suncity Grouprepresentatives shared that the company was contributing $3.1million to the 2019’s edition.Meanwhile, Suncity Group is said to 7BALL be on its way to becoming thelargest junket operator in Macau.
Suncityis focused on high-rollers and VIP Chinese casino customers in Macauand so far as the junket business goes, Suncity is said to be theleading brand. The continuous investment in Macau is intentional, asthe operator is also interested in breaking into the gaming hub witha casino of its own.
Thecompany has been busy trying to break away from its dependency onhigh-rollers in Macau specifically and diversify its markets byentering competitive markets in Cambodia, Vietnam, and thePhilippines.
Diversifyingthe Portfolio Beyond Macau
As to Vietnam in particular, the company has revealed its recent plans to try and whip up interest in VIP Baccarat games in the country. Suncity has long been concerned by the withdrawing number of Chinese big-spending customer from Asia’s gaming hub.
Hopefullyto pick the scattering pieces, the Group is investing more in othermarkets. Asia is also quickly changing and becoming more competitiveas US brands are arriving in places like South Korea and Japan wherean oncoming IntegratedResort (IR) project threatens to bite into the profits of Macauand South Korea.
Suncity’sinvestment portfolio has been diversifying at a good pace with thehelp of smart investment. The company’s Hoiana resort in Vietnamwill hopefully prove a new and exciting draw for high-payingcustomers. Suncity also owns investments in Tigre de Cristal inRussia, and the company has been consolidating its control oversmaller operations in Cambodia.
Bysponsoring the Macau Grand Prix, Suncity is hoping to get moreprominence among motorsports fans and achieve better brand awarenessoverall.
